Amanda Dressing is an educational consultant who has had a wide range of experiences as an educator with both adults and children. Most recently, she has worked as a classroom teacher in primary schools for 6 years and was awarded a Herald Sun Teacher of the Year Award in 2004. She has been employed as a leading teacher with a particular interest in developing cultural change.
Amanda has worked within the TAFE system as an adult educator supporting unemployed young adults to develop the skills necessary to secure gainful employment. She was an educational facilitator for Centrelink in a range of areas including management, leadership and customer service training. Amanda was awarded the Australia Day Award for Excellence in the field of Training Development and was also a trainer and educator for the Australian Regular Army.
Amanda currently works with teachers to develop their understanding of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS), Principles of Learning and Teaching (PoLT), Personalised Learning, Habits of Mind, Learning Styles, Thinking Skills, Questioning Skills, Rubrics and Cooperative Learning Strategies when planning curriculum. She provides a practical and hands-on approach to learning and teaching with a view to developing student engagement and understanding, and best practice in teachers.
